John hipley Nov 14,  2024Jaguars protective organizer Ryan Nielsen talks with his gamers throughout the fourth day of the NFL football training school technique session aturday,  July 27,  2024 at EverBank tadium's Miller Electric Center in Jacksonville,  Fla. [Bob elf/Florida Times-Union/ Bob elf/Florida Times-Union/ UA TODAY NETWORKIn this tale: Jacksonville JaguarsJacksonville Jaguars defensive planner Ryan Nielsen spoke on Thursday,  and we were there for everything. To listen to his meeting,  sight head trainer Doug Pederson also talked on Monday. Below is a transcript of what he said.Q: On injury updates to QB Trevor Lawrence?Pederson: "It's difficult to tell now. We've still obtained a pair of days. I don't have any precise responses right now." Q: On injury updates to OL Ezra Cleveland?Pederson: "Yeah,  he's mosting likely to-- since Monday,  today,  tomorrow-- he's going to obtain some rest on it once more and he must be out there at technique and perhaps obtain a couple of breaks. We'll see where he's at." Q: On any other injuries following unday's video game vs. Minnesota?Pederson: "No. We came out respectable. Simply bumps and contusions. You saw Tank [RB Tank Bigsby,  he sort of got hindered on a play,  yet absolutely nothing severe." Q: On if Lawrence will certainly require surgery?Pederson: "There's not been a talk on surgical procedure,  so I don't know where the surgery-talk is originating from. Absolutely nothing like that." Q: On if he can step-up QB C.J. Beathard's work this week?Pederson: "I indicate,  it's feasible. C.J. prepares as if he's mosting likely to play. I can't dedicate to that today,  until I understand if Trevor's going to play or otherwise. Yet we'll absolutely get him all set to go." Q: On if obtaining Beathard all set to play will not be as difficult since he recognizes with the playbook?Pederson: "Yet still,  he hasn't been below,  truly because camp. o,  if that holds true,  we 'd have to offer him a pair of snaps here throughout the week." Q: On his analysis of QB Mac Jones's beginning performance?Pederson: "I assumed the means the game started,  it fit right into his wheelhouse. ometimes we can do a much better work placing our players in much better scenarios. I believed also,  defense breakdowns got him off his area a little. He missed a few things. There's some things that he would certainly want back,  clearly,  both interceptions,  the fumble. I suggest,  those are things that we can not do,  right? Especially at the end of the video game. If he gets an opportunity today,  I understand he'll be better. Another possibility https://www.lionsfanapparel.com/collections/brian-branch-jersey,  one more week of job. He'll learn from it,  clearly. He takes it hard,  takes it personal,  which he should. Most of us do. But we still have a lots of confidence in him." Q: On the pass protection effort vs. Minnesota's pass rush?Pederson: "It was a bit of everything,  truthfully. Enjoying it once more today,  just a little bit of whatever. I thought too,  the method Minnesota showing a great deal of six individuals up,  seven guys up,  it does present-- which's their style. That's mosting likely to produce sides,  and they did a good work at that as well." Q: On just how he keeps the confidence high amongst the team?Pederson: "You reveal them where we are. You reveal them our division,  you show them what's left on the schedule,  and you attempt to remain favorable. I still really feel like it's an excellent possibility for us as a group. We have actually got to find out how to win a game. I'll inform you this: the men do not give up. You saw it once again the other day. They fought right throughout. Even Travon's [DE Travon Walker penalty at the end,  he's attempting to punch the round out and obtain the sphere back for the infraction,  which's after 80-plus breaks. Men are proceeding to battle." Q: On if he really feels the group has to carry out perfectly?Pederson: "There's times where it seems like that,  where you have actually got to be best. I think kind of our season has been this way. We haven't had the ability to kind of develop-- I suggest,  we produced some early in the period and undoubtedly yesterday was tough to obtain that started. Listen,  mistakes are mosting likely to take place. Guys are battling their tails off and all of that. I assume you just can not make way too many errors and attempt to conquer them. Particularly where there's a fine or turnover or points of that nature. Those points are hard to sometime get rid of." Q: On if it's discouraging having fun at a top-level in the second fifty percent of the period yet not having the ability to see the exact same success as in the 2022 season?Pederson: "Yeah,  there's a few of that. I think what's intriguing is,  you check out the body of work during the week and after that it's not rollovering to the game completely. A great deal of it is,  and there are parts of it that isn't,  and the components that aren't are obviously the ones holding us back. That's the frustrating part. The guys would certainly claim they understand that,  and they see it. We continue to show it to them. Even as trainers,  we take it hard. We placed strategy together and coach them throughout the week,  and so we take it personal as well." Q: On particularly which parts of the once a week preparation that aren't bring over to games?Pederson: "I don't know. Perhaps just points like remaining in your void if you're a defensive electrician or the protection problems we had the other day,  maybe a QB read,  a choice he makes. Things that you would assume that the guys would certainly recognize. The game goes fast. Maybe a young protective back whose eyes are in the wrong place. Things like that." Q: On if there was call with QB Mac Jones on his 2nd interception and if that influenced the throw?Pederson: "It appears like he gets bumped. If he did,  yes,  because of where the ball wound up. Due to the fact that we had a message path and a corner course,  type of a combination there. It appeared like it might've quickly gotten-- also on tape it was tough to see-- you would certainly need to go back and watch the T.V. duplicate certainly,  yet it certainly affected,  I think,  the trajectory of where the round finished up." Q: On the cornerbacks' efficiency covering Vikings pass receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison?Pederson: "I assumed the edges played truly well. Truly well. To hold that team to truly not a great deal offensively was excellent. They played physical. They came up and made tackles. I believed Buster [CB Montaric Brown,  Darby [CB Ronald Darby,  you see Tyson [CB Tyson Campbell. I indicate,  these people are fighting and playing really well. They appeared like,  to me,  and actually for the entire second,  playing their best football yesterday." Q: On what he's seen from DE Josh Hines-Allen recently?Pederson: "I assume one of the things you're seeing,  and this is the improvement,  I assume,  of our whole defense,  is exactly how they have actually remained to function throughout the week. They have actually bought into the plan and what the people are teaching and coaching,  and youre seeing that steady improvement. Guys are understanding that. Josh is one of them and Travon is one of them. Obviously,  those guys are in advance. However yeah,  I believe the method,  relying on that and trusting himself,  clearly,  what he sees and what he sees with the stance of the deals with. If he using a limited end or whatever it may be. o yeah,  he been playing excellent." Q: On staying confident for the remainder of the season?Pederson: "Yes. 100 percent. I believe our objectives and everything are ideal before us. Despite the mistakes and the losses,  certainly. It a crazy service and it can transform for us in a hurry the other method and get positive in a quick method. But the people have not looked into whatsoever. They place in the moment during the week. It hard. You injure for the men because you simply see just how much they take into it. And after that theyre not awarded for it. To have 6 one-score losses,  six games. It hard. That's tough. ometimes we make it hard. But yet the men,  like I said,  they see it. They understand it. Were done in it together and we try to fix them and carry on." Q: On what Lawrence can gain from being on the sideline?Pederson: "Yeah,  I inform you what,  he was actually involved yesterday. Aided Mac the whole day. We had terrific discussions on the sideline,  things that he saw. o yeah,  that something that he can absolutely get a little different viewpoint,  calmer eyes,  and see how the game streams." Q: On how his monitorings from the sideline can equate onto the field?Pederson: "ure. ure. It sort of the memory,  right? It what you see and simply having the ability to trust specific points,  count on on your own https://www.lionsfanapparel.com/collections/loren-strickland-jersey,  and afterwards count on what you see defensively to make decisions tossing the round. Yeah,  that can all lug over." Q: On just how OL Walker Little and OL Anton Harrison have been playing recently?Pederson: "Yeah,  I indicate,  I believe both guys have actually been playing well. There are some plays the other day that they would like to have back,  clearly. But I think for the majority of the period,  theyve done a great work. Walker sort of worked out into that place. But both individuals,  they play physical,  they play challenging. Theyre both wise people,  sports. Have done a great task."
